Information Technology

Tokoiti School is part of the ‘Big River ICT’ development project.  This has involved the training of all staff in the use of latest technology and implementing latest learning theory.  We are in the second year of the three year project and the journey so far has been incredible!  It has radically changed the way we approach teaching in Social Studies, Science, Language, Health and Technology with a move to Inquiry Learning which is very much centered on higher thinking skills and building on the existing knowledge and interests of the children.

The school is well equipped with the latest technology to support an inquiry learning approach - each class has at least 3 up-to-date computers, and we also have a data projector, digital cameras, digital video and appropriate educational software.
